Australian TCG League Challenges: February

Calling all TCG Players!

A number of TCG League Challenge events have been announced for February. League Challenges are entry-level events and are ideal for newer players looking to get involved in competitive TCG (VGC players – think Premier Challenges). League Challenges also award a small amount Championship Points to players who finish as the top seeds, making these events valuable to any players looking to earn an invite to this year’s Pokémon World Championships. We’ve listed legal expansions, the League Challenges: February, and some useful links to provide you with everything you need to know!

Legal Expansions

League Challenges run using the ‘Standard’ format for TCG, meaning that only expansions released in the past few years are legal for use. For reference, only cards from the following expansions can be used at League Challenges;

  • XY – Primal Clash
  • Double Crisis
  • XY – Roaring Skies
  • XY – Ancient Origins
  • XY – Breakthrough
  • XY – Breakpoint
  • Generations
  • XY – Fates Collide
  • XY – Steam Siege
  • Evolutions
  • Sun & Moon*
  • Black Star Promo Cards – XY36 onwards

*(Sun & Moon are legal for use at events from 17th February)

In addition, there are a number of additional cards from certain promo sets that may be permitted for use – contact the Tournament Organiser prior to the event to see which of these cards may be legal for use. ‘Proxy’ cards are not permitted for use at a League Challenge, nor are cards obtained from World Championship Deck.
