New Pokémon X and Y Information from the Official Website

Following the release of the newest issue of CoroCoro (a Japanese Magazine), the English Official Pokémon X and Y website has had a total revamp, giving English players all new exciting information about the two upcoming games.

For convenience sake, all the information and images gathered from the official website has been split into the three following categories: The Kalos Region, Pokémon, and Trainers. So click the spoiler on the information you wish to learn more about!

The Kalos Region

Pokémon X and Y bring a whole new region to explore, the Kalos Region, interestingly shaped like a star.

Below you can see the Kalos Region, including some of it’s new towns and cities.

The main city of the Kalos Region is Lumiose City. The central city in a metropolitan area, filled with shops, customers, and the iconic tower sitting in the city’s center.

The New Pokemon

Pokémon X and Y will bring a new generation of Pokémon, including never before seem Pokémon, new moves, abilities and maybe even new Pokémon types too!

The Starters

Begin your  Pokémon X and Y adventure with one of three starter  Pokémon: Chespin the Grass-type  Pokémon, Fennekin the Fire-type  Pokémon, and Froakie the Water-type Pokémon.


Type: Grass

Height: 1’04”

Weight: 19.8 lbs.

Chespin has a tough shell covering it’s head and back. Despite having a curious nature that tends to get it into trouble, Chespin keeps an optimistic outlook and doesn’t worry about small details.


Type: Fire

Height: 1’04”

Weight: 20.7 lbs.

Searing heat blows from the ears of Fennekin. This Pokémon loves to snack on twigs. Fennekin can be temperamental, but it tries to do its best for its Trainer.


Type: Water

Height: 1’00”

Weight: 15.4 lbs.

Froakie is both light and strong, making it capable of jumping incredibly high. The bubbles on its chest and back protect it from attacks. Froakie may appear absentminded, but in truth it pays close attention to its surroundings at all times.

The Legendary Pokémon

Of course, with every new  Pokémon game comes new Legendary  Pokémon.  Pokémon X and Y introduces Xerneas and Yveltal, mystery surrounds these two new Legendary  Pokémon.

Mysterious New Pokémon

It has been revealed that this newly discovered Pokémon has some sort of connection with Mewtwo. This new Pokémon shares many traits with Mewtwo, including a light-purple body, and piercing, powerful eyes. Mewtwo was created by engineering the genes of another powerful Pokémon, the Mythical Mew.

More Pokémon

Any trainer is sure to meet many Pokémon in the Kalos Region, with differing traits, skills and appearances.

Sylveon is a newly discovered Evolution of Eevee! Experienced Pokémon Trainers know that Eevee can evolve into seven different types, and now a new Eevee Evolution with a different type has been revealed.


Type: Electric / Normal

Height: 1′ 08″

Weight: 13.2 lbs.

Helioptile charges itself by bathing in the light of the sun, providing it with enough energy that it doesn’t need to eat. Helioptile can learn the new Parabolic Charge move, which heals the user for half the damage it deals to enemies.


Type: Normal / Flying

Height: 1′ 00″

Weight: 3.7 lbs

With a friendly nature and a beautiful chirp, Fletchling is a popular Pokémon among many Trainers. Fletchling is also known to be ferocious in battle, capable of unleashing relentless attacks.


Type: Fighting

Height: 2′ 00″

Weight: 17.6 lbs.

With its trademark leaf always sticking out of its mouth, Pancham tries to intimidate its opponents by glaring at them intensely. Parting Shot is a new move that Pancham can learn. The user lowers the target’s Attack and Special Attack, then switches itself out for another Pokémon in the party.

Height: 5′ 07″

Weight: 200.6 lbs.

Gogoat is so large that people are able to able to ride on its back. It’s very calm, and can form a strong bond with its Trainer’s feelings when its Trainer grabs onto its horns. Gogoat can learn Horn Leech, which will recover HP equal to half the damage dealt. It’s handy when Gogoat’s HP is low!


The Heroes

With a new generation of Pokémon comes new trainers. Before starting your adventure, you get to select whether you want to play as a male, or female hero.

Hero_Male Hero_Female

Players get to choose their gender before taking their first step into the all new Kalos Region. Choosing the hero that best suits them, setting you off on their own adventure. Getting new outfits and accessories along the way, players are able to change their trainers attire, as they explore the Kalos Region.
